          CWIPS printing of CoastWatch images annotated using IDIDAS

 1. Load image into IDIDAS.


 2. Clear all graphics planes.


 3. Enter ANALYZE, select DRAW, begin new drawing file and select plane #1.
    Specify any name for output file, since drawing file will not be saved.
   
 4. Enter ANNOTATE, annotate image, and escape from ANNOTATE (drawing file
    not saved).


 5. Exit ANALYZE (escape <ESC> to skip file save).


 6. Select option OTHER from main menu.


 7. Select save 8-bit image, then select save 8-bit graphics file without header.


 8. Specify disk file name in which to save annotation (ex. FILENAME.MSK).


 9. Exit IDIDAS.

 
10. Execute CWIPS.


11. Specify annotation palette (color of annotation will be the color specified
    by the value 1 in the selected palette).

    
12. Decompress desired image.


13. Load FILENAME.MSK as mask file, specifying default transparency range (ie. 0,0).


14. Write masked image to output file.
